"Progressive" = Oxymoron?
I hereby postulate that the term "progressive", in its political sense, is the only one-word oxymoron in the English language.
Any cause, movement, or ideology that labels itself "progressive"...isn't.

Well,...I like that, but I believe the only one-word oxymoron in English is 'monosyllabic'. :)

Excellent point. I've always found the term to be misleading at best, and one that flunks the falsifiability test. It's like calling one's party the "Enlightened" Party, which, by inference, seems to conveniently label your opponents as non-enlightened.
