London, And The Reaction Of The Left
Another on-the-mark email, this one to Glenn Reynolds:
Didn't Rove get excoriated by the Dems because he said Liberals have a weak response to terror? Does Kos and the Gang know they are proving Rove right at this very moment? Does Kos and the Gang know every quote on their sites will be PDFd and used against them in every election from here to eternity?
I agree with Glenn that the kossacks don't care a fig about that. But the reader's point stands. Witness this whimpering comment that Mark Coffey found, again at Daily Kos:
If there are Middle East extremists behind these London bombs, I hope Britain turns again to its better self and reacts with tolerance and forebearance, rather than becoming more like its enemies.
Neville Chamberlain again, waving his little piece of paper. What sort of emotional blot must there be on the reasoning ability of these people? I agree with Mark Coffey: the Islamofascists don't want negotiations; they want us dead.

Indeed...your Christopher Hitchens quote at the top is quite apropos at the moment...

Recent pronouncements aside, Woody Allen's "older, funny stuff" remains classic. Remember that great scene in Annie Hall where Marshall McLuhan comes out of nowhere to smite the obnoxious guy that Alvy was arguing with?
I would so love to have Hitch available in the same way--for the "education" of some of my dear liberal friends.
