"Over There"--Utterly Predictable Hollywood
I'd been peripherally wondering about the new TV series "Over There". Pam at BlogmeisterUSA tells me all I need to know:
Former paratrooper Michael Fumento, who was embedded with the 2nd Marine Expeditionary Force in Iraq, reviews Stephen Bochco's new show "Over There," based on the war in Iraq.
If “Over There” has a true military advisor, he deserves the firing squad. In the first episode a squad is pinned down while besieging a terrorist-filled mosque. The unit remains for about 36 hours with no air support, because “Air is dedicated to another area.” Never mind that planes or choppers are always available within minutes. [...]
Pam goes on to note some of the typically unhinged-from-reality comments made about the show by readers of The Daily Kos.

What so many Americans have forgotten is that the people from Hollyweird are storytellers, not facttellers. Too many Americans rely on filmmakers to feed them their versions of history. Why else would Fartenheit 9/11 be considered a "documentary"?

Right. And then on the other hand, when I protest about unwatchable crap like that stupid global warming disaster movie, everyone says, "Oh, it's just entertainment! It's not supposed to be real." Sure thing.

Great example! That piece of filth has been bogging down my premium cable channels for about a month now. Of course, like Moore's version of "entertainment", I made it a point to watch it so I could complain about it. Strangely, Moore's film was more entertaining than that other piece of trash!

By the way, what does it take for a good conservative like me to get his site on your favorites? Should my feelings be hurt?

No problem, but let me first shake off the 3 dozen weiner dogs snapping at my ankles!
