Rejecting Asymmetrical Tolerance
Check out Tigerhawk's post on the "asymmetrical tolerance" that is apparently endemic to Islam.
Hat tip to Instapundit, who puts it plain:
Tolerance is a two-way street. Those who do not grant it, have no right to demand it.
Anyone want to dispute that?

America claims to be the leader of the democratic world and claims to have the greatest diversity and tolerance of any nation in this world. Arabs on the other hand make no such claims.
The issue is hypocrasy, not tolerance. We know Arabs don't have a great deal of tolerance but at the same time they do not claim that they have any, nor do they make it their mission in life to spread tolerance and democracy. But Americans go out of their way to enforce the notion that America is the most tolerant and most diverse nation, in the world, no less.
You can't have it both ways. You can't claim to be the leader of the free world and the most diverse and tolerant nation while also being deeply hypocritical when it comes to a particular race or religion.

Well, I think you're confusing the goal with the attempt made of reaching that goal. Of course there's a certain amount of failure in our efforts to be universally color (and culture) blind, but the fact we are not perfect has nothing to do with the nobleness of the goal.
We could be hypocritical 50% of the time, but if all the other countries are hypocritical 60% of the time, then we're still doing a better job than anyone else. There are no utopias in this world.
And just because the Islamicists make no bones about their prejucidices it doesn't mean they get a free pass for "honesty". Hitler didn't beat around the bush about his desire to exterminate the Jews, either.
