you haven't seen it, Howard Kurtz has a great profile of Brit Hume in the Washington Post. (via The Corner).
We sure could use a few more Brits Humes in the media.

Ha! Indeed. Can you imagine calm, logical Brit puncturing the posturing gasbags like Helen Thomas?. And I would contribute to a fund to keep a half-frozen pitcher of orange juice always handy at the podium, just in case David Gregory goes berserk again.

I'm loving the Tony Snow rumors for precisely the reasons you list above--but Brit would be no more or less than a miracle.
