Kerry's Joke Wasn't "Botched"

The MSM is referring to John Kerry's comments as a "botched" joke. Ed Lasky at The American Thinker wonders why, if the joke was botched, did the audience laugh.

Sounds like his "joke" was pretty successful.

I've written on the subject and read much on it as well. One glaring fact that everyone (including myself until now) appears to have missed: why would Kerry be "joking" about war to begin with? Not a very funny subject if you ask me! Personally, I'm convinced he delivered his "joke" just as it was written.
